The present study was conducted to assess the effect of poultry slaughter byproduct meal (PSBM) feeding on hematology and serum biochemistry of growing turkey poults. Day-old Belts Vilie small White turkey poults (n=150) were distributed into 5 dietary treatments, T1 (0%), T2 (2.5%), T3 (5%), T4 (7.5%) and T5 (10% PSBM), having three replicates of 10 birds per replicate. Each dietary treatment was fed ad lib in two phases i.e. starter (0–4 wk, 28% CP and 2800 Kcal ME/kg) and developer (4–8 wk, 26% CP and 2900 Kcal ME/kg). Blood samples were centrifuged and serum was separated and then stored at −20°C until assayed for measuring serum biochemistry (total plasma protein, albumin, globulin, glucose, uric acid, creatinine, triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, plasma glucose, alanine amino transferase (ALT), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) using appropriate laboratory kits. Total plasma protein, albumin, globulin, uric acid were significantly (P<0.00l) affected with various inclusion level PSBM with replacement of soybean meal. No significant difference observed in glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, plasma glucose, ALT, VLDL, LDL and various hematological parameter. No mortality was observed in any of the treatment group throughout the experiment. Studies on hematology and serum biochemistry revealed that there was no adverse effect of feeding of PSBM on overall health of growing turkey poults. Therefore, in general, present study indicated that the feeding of PSBM had no adverse effect on blood biochemical in growing turkey poults.
