An experiment was conducted to study the haematobiochemical changes in Pasteurella multocida inoculation in ducklings. Thirty six, one month old, unvaccinated ducklings were randomly distributed into three groups. The group I was maintained as control and group II and III were inoculated with P. multocida through subcutaneous and intranasal route, respectively. The haematobiochemical changes were studied at 0th, 7th, 14th, 21th and 28th days of post inoculation. The result revealed significant increase in packed cell volume, total erythrocyte count and haemoglobin levels and decrease in lymphocyte and monocyte counts on 7th day of post-inoculation in both treatment groups. The eosinophil count on 14th day of post inoculation and total leukocyte and heterophils counts from 7th to 28th days of post inoculation were significantly high in both treatment groups. Significant decrease in serum total protein and globulin on 14th day of post inoculation were also observed in both treatment groups. It may be concluded that Pasteurella multocida inoculation in duckling could significantly alter packed cell volume, haemoglobin level, total erythrocyte count, total leucocyte count, heterophil and eosinophil counts, serum total protein and globulin levels.
