Abstract

Decorticated tamarind seed meal (DTSM) was incorporated at 0, 5, 7.5 and 10% with and without NSP degrading enzymes at the rate of 1 kg per ton of feed. Incorporation of DTSM at 10% resulted in comparable weight gain with the control. How ever, feed intake was higher, feed efficiency was poor than the DTSM was incorporated even at 5%. DTSM inclusion did not influence the carcass characteristics viz., giblet (%) weight of gizzard, liver, heart, pancreas and proventriculus and intestinal length. The feed cost for kg weight gain of broiler starter and broiler finisher marginally reduced to to 2.54 to 3.00%.
