Abstract

The study was conducted in four blocks of Rajasthan's Pali district and data was collected from 120 peripheral and 120 distant poultry farmers to analyse differential knowledge on improved production practices. The respondents had excellent knowledge of chick procurement practices followed by litter management and brooding practices respectively. However, they had poor knowledge regarding disease management practices and feeding, respectively. There was no difference between peripheral and distant poultry farmers with respect to their knowledge about chick procurement, litter management and feeding practices, respectively. The related implications for poultry development are discussed.
