To evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of mixed enzyme on the performance of broilers, 120 day-old commercial broiler chicks of Hubbard strain were distributed randomly into 4 groups with 3 replicates each having 10 broiler chicks. The chicks were reared under hover brooder from 0–20 days and thereafter shifted in deep litter system till 42 days of experiment. The chicks were provided standard control (T1) starter diet from 0–20 days and finisher diet from 21 to 42 days period. The chicks of other three groups were also fed the same basal diets as in T1 but supplemented along with Alvizyme (a mixed commercial enzymes preparation) at the rate of 200 g (T2), 400 g (T3) and 600 g (T4) per tone of feed. The live body weight and gain in weight were significantly (P< 0.05) higher in T2 group followed by T3, T4 and the least in T1 group; however, there was non-significant difference between T3 and T4 groups. The total feed intake and feed conversion efficiency (FCE) were significantly (P< 0.05) the best in T2 and the poorest in T1 group, though there was no significant difference in FCE between T3 and T4. There was no difference in the mortality amongst the groups. The values of performance index (PI), dressing percentage and carcass weight were significantly (P< 0.05) higher in T2 group followed by T3, T4 and the lowest in T1 group. The mixed enzyme supplementation irrespective of various levels could not reflect any significant difference on weight of giblets and cost of feed. The cost of production (Rs/kg BW) was achieved maximum in T2 groups as compared to other groups, while the values in T3 and T4 groups were comparable. It was concluded that dietary supplementation of mixed enzymes @ 200g per tone of feed of broiler chicken would be beneficial in terms of overall performance of broilers.
