Performance, carcass characteristics and economics of production of broiler chickens fed diet supplemented with multienzyme

A study was carried out to assess the effect of supplementation of Natuzyme on the performance and economics of broiler chickens production. Day old broiler chicks (N=120) were randomly allotted to four groups and Natuzyme was supplemented @ 0 g (T₀), 0.5 g (T_0.5), 1.0 g (T_1.0) and 1.5 g (T_1.5) per kg diet and offered randomly for a period of 6 weeks. Body weight gain was higher (p<0.5) in broilers fed diet supplemented with Natuzyme @1.0g/kg at 6 weeks of age. Significant (P<0.05) improvement in feed conversion ratio (FCR) was recorded in broilers fed Natuzyme @1.0 or 1.5 g/kg both at 3 or 6 weeks of age. Significant (P<0.05) increase in relative weight of thigh and gizzard was observed in broilers fed diet with highest level of enzyme (1.5g/kg diet). Enzyme supplementation @ 1.0g/kg diet was profitable in terms of higher percentage of net profit. It was concluded that supplementation of multienzyme @ 1.0 g/Kg diet was effective in improving the performance and net profit in broiler chickens.
