Sero-prevalence of infectious laryngotracheitis of poultry in India

Investigation on sero-prevalence of infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) in India is very less and therefore we conducted the present study to know the sero-prevalence of ILT in layer birds of four states where maximum poultry population exist. Total 360 samples were collected from Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal and Tamilnadu. We also checked the association of risk factors (season and age of the bird) with sero-prevalence of ILT in India. Overall sero-prevalence of ILT was found to be 26.77% in those regions. The result also indicated that season and age of the birds have effect on the prevalence of ILT. The ILT was more prevalent in winter and in smaller age group (10–35 weeks).
