Abstract

Housing system is one of the non-genetic influencer that can recover the well-being of poultry birds to obtain higher quality eggs and meat and it has direct effect on the production. A better understanding of how different housing systems can impact the poultry production is very central at the research and commercial stages. Owing to increasing concerns of animal wellbeing, ecological and health awareness in industrialized states, consumer preferences for organic free range layer eggs has improved in the last decade. Poultry housing systems are frequently monitored in European countries. All possible dynamics of various production systems are needed to be well-thought-out concerning sustainable and value-added poultry production. For the last decade, consumers have paid more attention to the housing system in which in which layers are kept with an increase of their choice for organic eggs. Some consumers think omega-3 supplemented eggs and free range eggs as valuable for their health. This review was intended to revise the prospective of poultry husbandry with perception to product quality control and consumer predilections. Perceptive to egg quality in terms of better nutritional profile, least microbial contamination and environmental pollution, poultry husbandry can be enriched through confident management approaches accompanied by housing strategies and health consciousness crusade.
