Present investigation was undertaken to study effect of aloe vera supplementation on haemato-biochemical parameters, gut morphology and expression of Toll-like Receptors (TLRs) in layer chicken. For this study225 layer chicken of twenty two weeks of age were randomly divided into five groups consisting of three replications i.e. T0 (without antibiotics-negative control), T1 (antibiotic-control group), T2 (1 % aloe vera), T3 (2 % aloe vera), and T4 (3 % aloe vera). Haemato-biochemical and nutrigenomic expression analysis was performed using the blood collected during slaughtering the experimental layers at the end of the feeding period of 140 days. Mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), serum glucose, triglycerides and HDL-C of layers showed significant (P<0.05) differences among different groups. There was significant (P<0.05) increase in villi height in duodenum, jejunum, and ileum from negative control to treatment group T2. There was significant (P<0.05) increase in villi width in duodenum from T1 to T4. The relative mRNA expression of TLR 2 and TLR 4 was significantly (P<0.05) different among experimental groups and non-significantly different in relative mRNA expression of TLR 7 in the layer chicken of different treatments. Thus, based on the findings of the present research, it may be concluded that the dietary supplementation of aloe vera in the layer chicken showed positive effect on hemato-biochemical parameters and gut morphology.
