This study is designed to develop a conceptual model based on Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to determine the teaching methods that influence the acquisition of employ ability skills of mechanical engineering trades at technical college level. Descriptive survey research design was utilized in carrying out the study. Ninety nine five (99) mechanical engineering trades’ teachers in the technical colleges in north central states of Nigeria responded to a structured questionnaire addressing the research question and its corresponding hypothesis. A conceptual model developed consisted of five (5) observed variables that will serve as the most significant determinant of the teaching methods that influence the acquisition of employability skills of mechanical engineering trades at technical college level were identified. It was recommended that the model should be adopted in the teaching of mechanical engineering trades for effectively teaching and learning and the acquisition of employability skills of the students.
