In the present scenario the growing concern of the people living in every strata of the society is the ever increasing price of fuel and the devastating effects caused due to higher levels of pollution in the atmosphere.One of the closest solution to control the above two concerns is the evolution of hybrid vehicles. An important aspect of a hybrid vehicle is its transmission system. This paper presents the performance evaluation of the transmission system of a hybrid mini car. A special type of transmission unit that is designed to suit the requirement of hybrid mini car contains centrifugal clutch and gearbox. This hybrid mini vehicle, which we are designing, is different from other hybrid in the transmission aspect. However, the large petroleum reduction potential of hybrid vehicles provides strong justification for government support to accelerate the development of Hybrid vehicle technology.
