Abstract

Dye sensitized solar cell have gained much importance in last few years because of its potential to become a low cost solar technology. The reason for this low cost is because of use of low cost raw materials like TiO2, dye and electrolyte. No vacuum technology is required for the processing and so the equipment cost is considerably low. Catalyst plays an important role in the kinetics of electron transfer from the FTO to the electrolyte. This is an attempt to evaluate an alternate catalyst that is cheaper than the platinum. The comparison of the device with and without catalyst is also analyzed alternate catalyst of palladium.
