The present research describes a standard solid state reaction method for the preparation of BiFeO3 multiferroic ceramics. Attempt has also been made to optimize the synthesis parameters in order to achieve good kind of ferroelectric and dielectric performance of BiFeO3 ceramics. The X-ray diffraction pattern reveals the rhombhohedral perovskite structure of ceramics. The room temperature ferroelectric measurement demonstrates a well saturated hystersis loops with improved saturation and remnant polarizations. The dielectric measurement with temperature shows a small dielectric anomaly around 350°C in BiFeO3 samples which indicates the antiferromagnetic Neel temperature (TN) of BiFeO3 ceramics. Therefore, BiFeO3 ceramic exhibits good ferroelectric and dielectric properties at room temperature.
