Abstract

The conversion of geothermal energy into electricity is an emerging field in exploring the renewable sources of energy, and efforts are being made for its optimization. The present short note discusses the optimization of the geothermal energy based on the Diffusion Equation of Fluid Flow for computations, and considering the impact of the calculated value of the k (permeability) factor. Designing aspects of the conversion systems with the turbines have been discussed by considering the various parameters - torque rotational speed (ω), the fluid flow rate (Q), the fluid velocity (q), the incidence angle (β), and the turbine radius (R). Geothermal Energy Extraction and Conversion into Power have also been briefly described by discussing the nature of each involved step. The role of Closed Loop Technologies for the extraction of geothermal energy has been highlighted.
