An Approach for Environmental Sustainability and its Importance and Implications

An approach has been suggested with an objective of keeping Environmental Sustainability on our Planet – the Earth. The importance of various factors like political pressure for increasing the environmental impacts, and political will for the maintenance of material wealth for economic growth has been emphasized. To achieve this objective, serious efforts have to be made in various directions like Scientific Research, for measuring and understanding the present environmental degradation around the globe. Also, a strategy has to be introduced for reducing pollution and also producing a renewable resource based economy in the society. The importance of the public sector infrastructure to support environmental sustainability has to be brought to the people. In this direction, Masters courses in premier Institutes in most of the resourceful countries have to be introduced. Big countries have to make concrete efforts to bring such changes. In this paper, all these points and other related aspects have been dealt in detail, along with some Mathematical Modeling. The impact of climate change, the persistence of plastics and toxics in the ecosphere, Deforestation and the loss of biodiversity, Air, water, and soil pollution, and Invasive species and infectious diseases have been seriously considered. Environmental sustainability, defined as a condition of balance, resilience, and interconnectedness, allows human society to satisfy its needs while neither exceeding the capacity of its supporting ecosystems to continue to regenerate the services necessary to meet those needs nor by our degree of use. It has to be understood that embracing sustainable and green principles is not just a trend, but in fact cultivating sustainable and green practices helps organizations become more efficient, competitive and profitable. It is more than simply a good thing to do. Manufacturers have started realizing the many practical short-term and long-term financial benefits to implementing environmentally conscious improvements. In addition, sustainability improves the quality of our lives, protects our ecosystem and preserves natural resources for future generations. Apart from this, in the corporate world, sustainability is associated with an organization’s holistic approach, taking into account everything, from manufacturing to logistics to customer service. This paper should be beneficial for the Researchers and the Society leaders engaged in Environmental Sustainability.
