Abstract

This paper aims at the modeling of a voltage source converter (VSC) rectifier to convert 3-Φ AC supply to DC supply with the help of hysteresis current control (HCC) scheme and PI controller has been used for accurate results. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by using MATLAB-Simulink software for the considered power system. A 3-Φ 415, 50Hz AC supply was rectified to DC voltage of 720 V for the load of 6 kW using PWM switching. Due to its high reliability and clean output, this model can be used in smart grids where hybrid of various renewable power generation systems is incorporated for uninterrupted and clean power supplies.
