The preparation and characterization of PEO-LiClO4-m wt% ZrO2 nanocomposite polymer electrolytes with different concentrations of ZrO2 nanoparticles are studied by keeping a narrow range of ZrO2 concentration. Conductivity measurements were carried out by AC impedance spectroscopy and discussed. In order to ascertain the thermal stability of the polymer electrolyte with maximum conductivity, films were subjected to TG/DTA analysis in the range 300 K to 800 K. In the present work FTIR spectroscopy is used to identify the nature of bonding and different functional groups present in the electrolyte by monitoring vibrational energy levels of molecules in the material. FTIR spectra showed the complexation of LiClO4 with PEO. The SEM photograph confirms the miscibility and amorphous nature.
