A thin film solid state photovoltaic cell was prepared by depositing Rhodamine-C18(R-C18) on Cu/p-CuI photoelectrode and then, carbon nanotubes (CNT) were deposited on dye coated p-CuI before placing the ITO glass plate as upper electrode. R-C18 dye was deposited by simple dipping technique on the p-CuI transparent layer. In this paper the diffuse reflectance spectra, photocurrent action spectra, I-V characteristics and stability curves were used to discuss the characteristics of solid state thin film solar cell. The maximum power conversion efficiencies reached without and with CNT layer were 0.5% and 1.5% respectively.
