Abstract

Due to climate change, energy generation through renewable energy sources is slowly getting accelerated. Coconut residues are good source of biomass energy available which have the potential to provide green energy, a better environment and financial prosperity. This study presents the status of coconut residues in Andhra Pradesh, one of the states in southern India and their bioenergy potential for the coconut residues produced in the state, also the financial and environmental benefits which could be possible on proper utilisation of these residues through best conversion pathways to energy as well as to value-added materials.
