Abstract

The present work is investigated the optimal parametric condition of extrusion blow molding process for making plastic container of high density polyethylene grade B6401 (HDPE) concerned with the effect of extrusion blow molding parameters (Screw temperature, Blowing Time, Cooling Time and Blowing pressure) on quality target and the quality targets are compressive strength and volumetric error. Plastic containers made according to L9 orthogonal array and nine experiments were conducted by different parametric combination of the control factors. Grey relational analysis is used to convert multi-responses into single response and GRG found. An optimal parameter combination of the Extrusion blow molding process was obtained by S/N ratio of GRG. Screw temperature having maximum value of delta so it is the most significant parameter in this process. Predicted optimal parameter setting found in this case is A1B1C2D1.
