Abstract

A facile synthesis route is described for the preparation of a Polypyrrole-gold nanoparticles composite material by polymerization of pyrrole using Gold-hydrochloride (HAuCl4) and ferric chloride (FeCl3) as oxidants. The synthesized composites were characterized by Fourier transfer spectra (FTIR), UV-vis spectra and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. The surface morphology was studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Further the composite sheets were studied for microwave absorption in the range of 1–10 GHz are studied and compared.
