Design and Study of Symmetrical Polygon Slots in Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavity Backed Slot Antenna

Study of different symmetrical polygon slots in the substrate integrated waveguide cavity backed slot antenna along with the designing of circular slot is presented in this paper. Instead of using conventional slots, symmetrical polygon slots are implemented to get better performance. The modification of the slot shape helps to get better return loss, VSWR, bandwidth and gain at desired frequencies while retaining low profile configuration showing unidirectional characteristics which are best suited for broadband applications.
