Abstract

A simple, green and efficient protocol for one-pot multicomponent synthesis of 4H-pyrano[2, 3-c] pyrazoles are developed by four component reaction of aryl aldehyde, ethyl acetoacetate, malononitrile and hydrazine hydrate using Mg/Fe hydrotalcite(HT), A heterogeneous basic catalyst at room temperature. The targated molecules were obtained in good to excellent yields, without use of expensive catalyst and chromatographic technique. This method offers shorter reaction time, easy work up, the reusability of the catalyst.
