Abstract

Safety is the first priority in the chemical industry. Over the past thirty years, Industrial processes increasingly involve the use and manufacture of hydrocarbons having highly dangerous substances, particularly flammable, explosive and toxicgases. Inevitably, occasional escapes ofgas occur, which create a potential hazard to the industrial plant, its employees, and people living nearby and risk to the environment. This paper explains how to overcome/control such type of potential hazards using Quantitative Risk Assessment technique taking a case study.
