Abstract

1-substituted/1-aminomethyl-3-[4′-(4″-nitrobenzyloxy) benzoylhydrazono]-5-bromoindolin-2-ones (Schiff bases and Mannich bases) have been synthesized and screened for their antimicrobial potential against human pathogenic fungi and bacteria. The structures of the compounds have been elucidated with the help of elemental analysis and spectral data (IR, 1H NMR and Mass).
