Abstract

Rajasthan Printing Apparels is one of the most important sectors not only for enhancing economic growth and revenue but also involved in preserving art, heritage and culture of Rajasthan with its uniqueness. Study has undertaken to analyse their export growth and the effect of economic slowdown. Bagru and Bandhani are following handmade process of production whereas Sanganer use relatively modern technologies in the production process. The study has chosen the study period 2005 to 2011, constituting the effects of quota abolition, global financial crisis, and the government support. This sector faces many challenges, like high cost, traditional way of printing process, high pricings, lack of innovation and use of technologies and Lack of government support. This sector has huge potential to capture the international market but needs more training, workshops and capacity building programs and export promotions to equip the new techniques and innovations. Study has aim to investigate the difference between absolute and relative/causal performance of growth of printing apparels through residual statistics of fixed effect model. Study has chosen ANOVA for sector wise growth performance of printing apparels and independent sample t test to analyse the effect of financial crisis.
