Teaching learning and curriculum are three important pillars of any education system. If any among them weakens, the whole education system will be prone to be collapsed. A learner learns essentially through interacting with the environment and needs a stimulating environment with a variety of experiences to arouse and sustain her/his curiosity and learning. Learning is influenced by multiple components of interrelated beliefs and self-directed strategies. Learning is an active, constructive process whereby learners set goals for their learning plan actions and monitor, regulate and control their cognition, motivation, and behavior. These actions are guided and constrained both by their goals orienting behavior and contextual framework which are somehow dependent on self efficacy of pupils. These actions can mediate the relationships between individuals and the context and their overall achievement. Therefore an individual's self efficacy and goal orienting behavior plays an important role in predicting his academic success. Present investigation attempts to reveal the correlation between goal orientation and academic achievement. Further it aims at finding out the relationship between self efficacy and academic achievement.
