In modern society, life of most of us is hectic since we are always under the pressure of work and time schedule. We experience constantly moments of anxiety and worry so we are always in acute need of relaxation, some kind leisure time reduces our tension and live life at ease. Leisure helps a person to maintain his health. After retirement people feel dejected and neglected as their physical and mental abilities get deteriorated. The purpose of this study is to look into the relationship between leisure time and life satisfaction, leisure time and adjustment of elderly people in the context of their socio-economic status and support system. In old age people may have leisure time but they may not have satisfaction because of their poor economic condition, lack of social support. In family a person has social and emotional support but those who are in the old age home get material support, but not emotional support. So it affects their life satisfaction. Life satisfaction is very important for adjustment. For this study, a sample of 180 elderly people is selected from the local old age home and 180 elderly people staying with their family. They have been administered life satisfaction scale and adjustment inventory. Old age people are more satisfied and adjusted in family than the people in old age home.
