This article is based on a review over the last few years of the existing literature on reflective practices in information and communications technology (ICT) and pedagogy. The literature review for this study is a part of an ongoing literature review on ICT use in schools and its relationship to attainment and pedagogy. This will enable us to achieve some common understandings about ICT, attainment and pedagogy which will underpin future ICT education research projects, identify a common set of issues across the different types of published evidence and identify important gaps in current knowledge about ICT and reflective practices, ICT academic performance, ICT and learning environment ICT and professional development of teachers, ICT and teaching learning process, ICT and quality of education The review to data, discussed in this article, has involved collecting data from various sources including: Journals, books, quantitative surveys and statistical publications, qualitative/case-study data and previous published meta-analyses. Most of the information is derived from well-established and reputable paper-based and electronic information sources but other Internet searches are also used.
