Abstract

This study was conducted in Zambia during 2015–2016. It used the secondary data, both at macro and regional levels. The objectives of study were to know the tourism policy of the government of Zambi sustainable development and to find out the performance of the tour sector from 2005 to 2014 with regard to the number of tourist arr direct tourism earnings, job creation, etc;. The study concluded that tourism policy contributed for job creation and foreign exchange earn for sustainable development. The study recommended for allocation o greater share of Aid to tourism development, strengthen the capacity tourism providers, placing of tourism in higher position in national p co-ordination of inter-sectoral linkages andpromotion of rural/village tourism for sustainable development.
