Abstract

India's passion for buying gold continues unabated. Certain new age financial products like the Gold Exchange Traded Funds have entered the market and now offer the investor with a chance to hold gold in electronic format just like holding dematerialized shares. This particular product may have the power to shift physical gold holding from unproductive private holding to productive institutional/organisation holding. The Gold ETF offers very high security to the investor and also offers a high degree of liquidity in times of emergency. Hence an attempt has been made to find out the major factor that influences the investment in Gold ETF by taking into consideration of 11 factors and Factor Analysis technique has been applied to find the underlying dimensions (factors) that exists in these variables.
