Abstract

This project is a manifestation of the design & manufacturing process of A “Power Line Carrier Communication Based on Anti -Theft System”. The project describes cost-effective technique for the implementing a power anti-theft system by exploiting remote RF concept and using existing power line as a physical medium.

The project is about power-line communication over the low-voltage grid, acting as the carrier, trying to achieve higher bit-rates and more reliable communication over the power lines. The main advantage with power-line communication is the use of an existing infrastructure. The report starts with a general introduction to power-line communication.

Then an existing application, communicating on a low-voltage grid, is investigated in order to obtain some knowledge of how the power line acts as a communication channel. It also covers some of the basic concepts of digital communication.

Standardization and specialization were the major considerations while designing the anti-theft system. These standard parts can be used in many similar applications. Thus, it reduces the cost of manufacturing.
