Abstract

The universal truth is that business is evolving from traditional to specialize to professional. Century old systems of management are bound to fail if not upgraded to suit the changed scenario. Ancient way of managing everything from five star board rooms is not going to work anymore. There must be some advance system which enables a worker at end of the line to make him/her heard at the topmost level. To win the competitive advantage it requires analytically oriented systems in organization that can revolutionize organization's ability to regenerate and utilize meaningful information. The Business Intelligence (BI) has contributed significantly towards enhancement of organization's ability. The implementation of BI has changed the business issues and parameters of business processes. Implementing a BI program is more than just installing the technology. The present paper explores the concepts of Business Intelligence, its components, applications of business intelligence, technology requirements, designing and implementation of business intelligence, and various Business Intelligence techniques.
