Abstract

The main purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between quality of work life and organizational commitment of faculty members at Islamic Azad University – Bojnord Branch in the academic year of 2011–2012. This is a descriptive-integrative study done to an applied purpose. The statistical population of this research consists of all the 127 faculty members of Bojnord Islamic Azad University. Using Morgan Method, a sample size of 97 subjects based on the random stratified sampling is selected and 2 standardized questionnaires of quality of work life by Walton and organizational commitment (1990) by Mayer's are used to study the selected members. To test the research hypotheses and for data analysis, Spearman's correlation coefficient, multiple correlation method, LISREL, Friedman Test are used. The t statistic and Fisher statistic are applied to measure the demographic variables. Moreover, SPSS statistical software is used to evaluate the research data. The results indicate that there is a significant and positive relationship between the quality of work life and organizational commitment.
