The study of the relationship between top management support and leadership on employee empowerment in Ministry of Sports and Youth, Fars province, Iran

Abstract

Leadership has always been important from the perspective of influencing on performance of organizations. On the other hand, empowerment is considered as one of the most important strategies for success and survival of organizations. Therefore, the purpose of present paper is studying relationship of support and leadership of senior management with empowering employees in Fars's youths and sport headquarters. The method of this research is descriptive and correlative and Pearson correlation test has been used for analyzing data. The statistical population included all of employees of Fars's youths and sport headquarters and questionnaire distributed between all of them and sampling wasn't conducted. Spreitzer standard psychological empowerment questionnaire was used for gathering researches data. An item was added to the questionnaire for measuring support and leadership of senior management. Considering kind of variables and researches assumptions, Parametric inferential methods (correlation test) were used for analyzing data. The results of correlation test suggested that support and leadership of senior management has positive significant relationship with empowering employees. "Feeling of autonomous" and "Feeling of impact" have positive significant relationship with support and leadership of senior management and "feeling of competence" and " feeling of significance" don't have significant relationship.
