Abstract

When individuals and teams are committed to the values and goals of the organization, they will have a higher spirit, less job-leaving rate and more satisfaction of the work and consequently they will become more useful for the organization. For the sake of surviving, developing and even maintaining the status quo, we should turn to innovation so as to prevent recession and destruction. This research seeks to investigate the relation between organizational commitment and innovation. The research method is by nature descriptive and correlational. The participants include all the employees of Shiraz Large Industrial Town, who are over 10000 people. 370 employees were selected as the sample by help of Morgan table. The sampling method in this research is simple random sampling method. The data-gathering tool consists of two standard questionnaires of organizational commitment and innovation the reliability and validity of which have been confirmed. As the hypotheses of the research were accepted, the results of the research showed that there is a positive and significant association between organizational commitment and innovation and some suggestions were made in relation to this.
