Abstract

Quality management system is a combination of organizational structures, responsibilities, procedures, and managements. Implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in higher education leads to a better adaptation to environmental changes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of TQM on the rate of organizational innovation. This study is correlational descriptive and, more specifically, based on structural equation modeling framework. Measuring the variables of this research, two 5-point Likert scale questionnaires were used among staffs and faculty members in universities of Sabzevar. Management experts confirmed the content validity of both quality management and organizational innovation questionnaires and the reliability of which was determined by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which was 0.96 and 0.92, respectively. The results showed that TQM dose not have a direct, positive, and meaningful effect on organizational innovation.
