Abstract

Faculty member is considered as one of the principal elements of higher education system. An attempt to achieve cases such as an interest to human qualitative dimensions, including vitality, is of special priority and counted as important factors in academic success. With the aim of exploring the level of happiness of the faculty members of Urmia University of Medical Sciences, the study was conducted. It thus serves as cross descriptive-analytic. The environment of the study constitute the colleges of Urmia University of Medical Sciences. A sample consisting of 151 subjects was chosen as multistage stratified sampling. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire which was used in previous studies and their validity and reliability were again reviewed and confirmed in this study. The questionnaires were filled out by faculty members. Data were analyzed by SPSS 19. The mean and standard deviation of the total score of the level of happiness were obtained; 3.57±.469 Additionally, there was a significant difference in the average happiness of the faculty members of Urmia University of Medical Sciences based on the college.
