Impact of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction in employees of the gas company of Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction of employees of the gas company and the province of Sistan and Baluchestan. For this purpose, in addition to theoretical studies and literature review, to measure emotional intelligence questionnaire Sibrya shering, with Cronbach's alpha of 0.82, and to assess the current status of the job satisfaction questionnaire Smith, Kendall and Haliner (JDI), with Cronbach's alpha 0.92 were used. The study sample included, all employees of the gas company Sistan and Baluchistan province, where 80 people were selected, among them, through random sampling, and the results obtained were analyzed using statistical methods, with the help of software SPSS. Research methods, in terms of purpose, were applied, and the process for collecting data was a survey research. After analyzing the data, using descriptive and inferential statistics, results showed that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction of male and female, in the sense that, the staff was more emotional intelligence, job satisfaction they have also been higher, and vice versa. Also, there is a relationship between job satisfaction and each of the components of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, or empathy, social skills, and self-motivation), in male and female employees. The results obtained show that, in general, there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction and each of the five components of emotional intelligence. The component of self-awareness, self-control, social intelligence, and self-motivation, depending on gender, that this relationship is confirmed, not just about women, self consciousness, self-control, social intelligence, and in this regard, is approved only for men, self-motivation component. Relationships, social skills (communication), have been confirmed in both men and women, and were not related to gender.
