All modern organisations continuously attempt to enhance the performance of their employees. Relevant research literature consists of various studies involving different variables impacting on-the-job performance of employees. So far, no study has explored the relationship between ‘personal effectiveness’ and on-the-job performance. This study bridged this gap by analysing the relationship between these two variables for employees working in a real estate-based organisation in Thane city, Maharashtra, India. The findings of this study indicate that a strong positive correlation exists between the personal effectiveness and on-the-job performance of the employees. The authors hope that more experimental studies are carried out in different organisations to verify these results. With the help of this study, learning and development professionals should work towards training employees in the area of ‘personal effectiveness’
