In this research, we study the mediating role of individual worship in the relationship between critical thinking and self-esteem in female high school students.
The study population consisted of all female high school students in 2015. In the present research, the sample volume was determined through the proposed table by Krejcie and Morgan (1970) in which 247 female students were selected by multistage cluster sampling in Islamshahr region. The data collection tool was a questionnaire consisted of several scales to measure individual worship, critical thinking, and self-esteem in the students. Also, data analysis was carried out by a self-made questionnaire for individual worship. In order to analyze and determine the relationship between variables, Pearson correlation, and Sobel test were used. The findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between individual worship and self-esteem and also individual worship and critical thinking. Individual worship explains the relationship as the mediating variable of 0.19. Thus, it can be concluded that the more the individual worship, the more the critical thinking and self-esteem and the individual worship can have a mediating role between critical thinking and self-esteem.
