The present study was aimed to examine the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment of elementary school teachers in Tehran. Research method was practical in terms of objective; and in terms of data collection method, it was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all Tehran's elementary school teachers, from which 384 individuals were selected as sample size, using Stratified Random Sampling method and Cochran formula for unlimited communities. Data collection tools included two standard questionnaires: Allen and Meyer's (1996) Organizational Commitment questionnaire; Bass and Avolio's (2000) Transformational Leadership Questionnaire. In order to calculate validity, face and content validity were used. And in order to calculate reliability, Cronbach's Alpha method was used. Findings approved of the validity and reliability of the questionnaires. Analysis of collected data was done through questionnaires, using SPSS software, in two sections: descriptive and inferential (Pearson Correlation and Regression). Findings showed that there is a relationship between transformational leadership and its components (idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual considerations) with Tehran's elementary school teachers ’organizational commitment. In addition, findings indicated that school teachers ’transformational leadership is a predictor of organizational commitment.
