The idea of Quality of Life is paraphrased at length, dedicating much space to the understanding of objective and subjective well-being, to acquaint with the categories and underlying philosophies. It helps in situating QOL studies in appropriate context and widens the horizon of QOL. Using data from pan-India well-being survey instrument (Gallup World Poll 2012), people's satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) level is taken on a 4-point scale, regarding various dimensions of their immediate environment. Also, their perception with regard to the suitability of their place for several social groups is administered. Several inferences are drawn, while substantiating or negating the responses based on oficial publications and studies. Questions of morality, religion and pervasive socialethics are unearthed to explain the perception data on suitability of place. However, the main aim of the paper remains to let know the QOL synergy and eminence of QOL studies per se.
