Abstract

Present article aims to illustrate the spatial hydrological potential zone and identification of hydrological hotspot using morphometric parameters in a sub tributary of Mayurakshi river. Most of the selected parameters are drainage parameters. Composite indices giving weightage of the respective parameters have been calculated for final articulation. It is found that one pocket in the upper catchment, parts of middle and lower catchment along the very vicinity of large stream are hydrologically potential corridor. Sub basin specific analysis shows the size of the catchment is proportional to existing basin size. Hydrological hot spots are mostly concentrated on the lower part of the basin where higher order streams merge with each other.
