Abstract

Development of healthcare facilities in India has achieved remarkable progress. However, it is still far behind in achieving health goals compared with high-income countries. Study of satisfaction level about healthcare facilities not only helps to indicate lacuna in existing healthcare facilities but also points out other aspects which are essential for up gradation of healthcare facilities in any region. An attempt has been in the present study of Mau district to investigate the level of satisfaction about available healthcare facilities among different societal strata. The level of satisfaction among people differs significantly due to variation in the socio-economic and cultural factors. The study is primarily based on primary data collected from the sample villages which have been selected through stratified purposive sampling technique. Assessment of the association between various socio-economic determinants and satisfaction with health care facilities has been carried out using logistic regression analysis.
