Abstract

The paper is based on published data obtained from Census of India publications and State Planning Institute of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The study reveals that there are wide regional variations in the work participation rate. Total work participation rate is high amongst the males than in females, except in the category of agricultural labour and household industries.
