Bibliometric analysis of 512 articles published for a period of five years (2009–2013) in the source journal ‘Indian Journal of Psychiatry ’, along with citations in five volumes has been carried out. The number of contributions and their distribution in different volumes, authorship pattern, International authored contributions and citation of the journal have been analysed. From this study we found that 1518 authors have contributed 512 articles during 2009 to 2013. Maximum number of articles (149) published in the year 2013. The study revealed that maximum number of contributions by three authors. The most productive author is Andrade, C with 40 papers. From this study, highest number of contributors are belong to India with 447(87.3%) articles out of 512 total articles
