Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) essence is to make things better and to strive for perfection by continuously improving the organizations or institutions process. Perfection is never possible because the race is never over. One has to continuously strive for its attainment. The main objective of the CPI is to discover and eliminate the main causes of problems in organization. Usually when one takes a problem solving approach, the root cause of the problem is forgotten and ignored. But when one engages in process improvement, learns what causes things to happen and then use this knowledge to reduce variations, remove activities that have no value to the organization and to improve customer satisfaction. This paper explains two models of CPI in detail, steps in CPI, its importance in continuous improvement for better understanding.
