Information systems and its applications for the development of agriculture: a Study

The study is mainly to identify agricultural information system components, their availability, the understanding of how successfully they work, problems associated with them and how to improve their performances. This review paper presents the background introduction, theories, literature review and analysis of information systems in agriculture. The usefulness of information for agriculture, sources of agricultural information, types of information needs for agricultural development, problems of dissemination of agricultural information are discussed. They can also be used to develop suggestions to solve the common problems in agriculture information systems, to improve the policy programs, the extension and research activities, and to manage information on agriculture. Finally, general conclusions about agricultural information systems are emphasized and implications for further development of agriculture information systems are presented. The review of analysis methods and process of agricultural information systems are also explained.
