Despite lot of business research took place based on the hindsight-base rather foresight approach based, but its results are not sound enough to make better business decisions. In other words traditional data analytic methods stumble in dealing with the wide variety of data that comes in huge volumes in a short period of time, demanding a paradigm shift in storage, processing and analysis of Big Data. As business problems are becoming complex the traditional data analysis lost its credibility in shooting turnaround business problems. As such, the data analytics has emerged as predominant science over the data analysis for providing better business insights for accurate and fast decision-making. Big Data is everywhere and there is almost an urgent need to collect and preserve whatever data is being generated, for the fear of missing out on something important. There is a huge amount of data floating around. What we do with it is all that matters right now. This is why Big Data Analytics is in the frontiers of IT. Big Data Analytics has become crucial as it aids in improving business, decision makings and providing the biggest edge over the competitors. This paper presents a brief overview of the demand for analytics, trends and talent gap in analytics. And finally it is found that there are lot of opportunities for professionals, who are skilled in Big Data Analytics.
